Saturday

Weekend is probably the day most people enjoyed most as they do not need to work or study during the weekend. Definitely, it also a time for everyone to actually relax themselves and also spending time with their family.

i have not much things to do this saturday and sunday except to actually organize up my thoughts and also study about psychiatry. It's not an easy job as i was thinking about before i myself is currently in psychiatric posting whereby there are a lot of stuffs to read on each psychiatric disorder.

Basically, i am too lazy to read about those thick book. i Have no other alternative rather than to actually just read the psychiatric book written by First Aids and Kaplan Handbook(also quite thick even it's a handbook).

Electronic Faulty

sometime electronic devises can really give a lot of havocs than give us all the headache. My laptop which is newly bought not long ago started having problems since not long ago as the internal fans were no longer working due to some unknown reasons. And, it get really hot when on for some time which it can be felt even on my laptop keyboard as i was typing.

Anyway, someone reminded me that i still have a mobile fan which i can position it so that it can face my laptop air flow compartment so that all the hot air can be so called channeled out and wouldn't burn off. Luckily that i noticed it early, or all my data would have been out of order at this moment.

Besides my laptop, my Discman was also giving out problem as the adapter no longer working. The adapter was old and in a bad condition whereby i don't think i will be able to fix it anymore. So, i need to go around the town to search for the suitable adapter which can fit mt Discman and it costs me around RM40...No choice other than to pay off the amount in order for me to listen to radio again as i used to listen to the radio through the Discman...


So, in conclusion, try to get those good quality electronic devices whenever anyone wants to get one. Be sure to check and research on the product that you will be buying or you will regret it sooner or later.

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

It was a very interesting day today as we learn more about child psychiatric illness especially on Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity disorders. It commonly been noticed before the age of 8 after kindergarten start and it can give up all the spectrums of the disease ranging from hyperactivity, inattention and impulsivity of a child.

Hyperactivity- the child wouldn't be able to sit still and will continue running and jumping around despite being scolded by the parents.

Inattention - the child wouldn't be able to focus or remember what have been said neither do they performed well academically.

Impulsitivity - Child have an sudden aggressiveness such as pushing the other children suddenly and throw tantrums easily on small matter.

However, a normal child might be showing off all the behaviors above; so it's only when all the behavior above actually affecting the function of the child in their learning or speech only then we consider giving treatment to the children.

Results...

Well, result for O&G posting came out today and what i have achieved was not too satisfactory for me as i just passed the exam and didn't perform very well.. For sure, i missed out something during the interview session with the patient and definitely, i lost a lot of marks from there.

Anyway, test is just being a test. Hopefully i will be able to perform better in the near future.

second day

there was a lot more new term introduced today in the psychiatric discussion which i think i need more time in adjusting in it as i am still not sure of which term is to be used for certain condition. Anyway, hope that i will get adjusted to it soon.

Psychiatry posting

starting from this week we are all posted in psychiatry ward to learn psychiatric illnesses. It's actually a totally different posting and many other aspect from Obstetric posting where we feel more hectic and misearable(so called miserable when we actually need to cover ward). haha

On the first day itself, we are not so tense and we feel much more comfortable in psychiatry. though we need to really learn about the history taking of psychiatry posting, it's more or less basic common stuffs that we need to get from the patients, just a bit more details in few aspect. We need to follow up the patient throughout the 5 weeks posting as they are all "long-staying" patients in the ward, which mean they need more time to be cured or incurable basically. When we visited the psychiatric ward, it's basically 2 different ward between the female and male ward. Male patients look a bit more scary than the female patients as they all are wondering around in the ward and we are not supposed to go inside, rather interview them outside with supervision from the staffs around.

Well, i think most of us are quite curious on what will be the experiences when we actually have our contact with the psychiatric patients. But, i think it will be a real memorable one.
